Cardiff has definitely got it going on at the moment in terms of punk, and The Modern Farewell are no exception to the tradition. They’ve been a band for quite a while now, and hell, they already were great, but with this release the bar has definitely been raised with the addition of second vocalist/guitarist Neil Doran, adding a much more gritty edge to their sound. Imagine a cross between The Lawrence Arms and Saves The Day and you’re just about half way there. They sound equally as early 00’s pop punk, as they do a No Idea records band (maybe), and much like everything guitarist/vocalist Jon Greenwood does there’s some country / Springsteen vibes thrown in for good measure too.
